Phil brings decades of broad and deep practical experience as an executive leader, business builder, and practitioner across “on-premise,” hybrid, and cloud technology environments.

During his 20+ years at SAP, Phil held a variety of senior roles spanning Sales, Services, Global Support, and Customer Engagement. Over seven of those years were dedicated to building SAP’s Cloud Business and transforming the company’s approach to it.

Born in the UK, Phil has worked in all regions of the world — including more than 12 years living in Asia Pacific and China — building businesses and helping customers succeed.

His diverse experience in a large variety of both SAP and non-SAP organisations enables him to offer an independent, business-oriented “360° view” of complex heterogenous technology and business landscapes. This background underpins an ethos of empathetic engagement, cross-cultural sensitivity, and stakeholder collaboration — all critical to ensuring transformational success.

Renowned for putting the customer at the centre of everything he does, Phil is a true Value evangelist. He believes that effective, long-lasting transformation depends not only on technology, but also on the people involved — inside and outside the organisation.

Over the past decade at SAP, his personal mission has been to design and institutionalise practical, simple-to-use methods to link what stakeholders truly value to the technology and actions that help realise that value.

A Life Beyond the Cloud

Outside advising advice4cloud clients, Phil enjoys reading, gardening, and walking his dogs. A lifelong learner, he usually has two or three books underway — spanning ancient military history, business, and behavioural science.

His passion for gardening reflects his ability to bridge long-term, strategic vision with the tactical, practical steps needed to deliver. He captures this philosophy in his”7 Ps of Gardening,” — an analogy he developed while building his home in New Zealand — to illuminate the realities of change, transformation and leadership.

Phil is also CEO and co-founder of Reignite, a company he runs with his wife. Reignite complements change programmes with people-focused approaches — including psychology, nutrition, healing, and meditation — to maximise the human effectiveness of transformation..
